How does God feel about your problems?
When problems arise such as financial difficulties, health issues, family conflict, job stress, and personal stress, how do you face them? Do you run from them or avoid them for as long as you can? Or do you lift your hands in prayer and offer your problems to God?
When you deal with problems, do you ever wonder, “Where was God?” or question whether God cares about you and the problems you face? Perhaps you have doubt. Since childhood, you are drawn to God because He is your Creator and, above all, Your Father, as you had been told. However, you never felt close to Him.
You thought He was watching you, but only from a distance. You are sure that He exists but wonder whether He really cares about you. You never feel that God hates you, only that you are unsure whether He cares for you. You face one problem after another, and it seems that He is not helping you at all. He seems to be a distant God or an absentee father. You wonder if He ever has a plan for your life.
Who says life is easy, but who says God does not care about you? Sometimes we encounter difficulties. Everyone feels sad or down from time to time. We become anxious and depressed. In times of trouble, it is easy to doubt, to be weary of everything, and to give up. You get tired and weary of the pressures in your life and the troubles you face. It is normal to feel that way.
Have faith that your troubles will not last forever, and that God cares for you with personal attention, and that He can do anything. If there is nobody else who cares for you, remember that God cares for you and wants to help you in the problems you are facing because it is His nature to comfort people. The Bible says:
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2 NIV)
Life is not smooth sailing. Sometimes you have to go through truckloads of problems so you may witness God’s power and spirit and experience Him as your comforter, counselor and your companion to His people in your times of trouble. Jesus said:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30 NIV)
The Bible reveals the truth that God cares about you. He notices you, understands you, empathizes with you, and helps you with your problems. He is interested in your welfare and watches over you with loving concern. What He wants for you is to allow Him to enter into your life, so yield your will to Him and watch what He will do for you.
Things will not always go right. For once in a while, you will experience problems, and problems are inevitable. But never be discouraged because you have God, your refuge and your fortress. With Him, you know that your problems will never last. God will always be your comforter in times of trouble.
Life can throw all kinds of challenges at you, but rejoice, persevere, and have faith that you have a loving God who cares for you.
